The joy in the heart of former Governor of Kano State and All Nigeria Progressive Party Presidential candidate and Sardaunan Kano, Malam Ibrahim Shekaru knew no bounds, in fact, it was indescribable, when he celebrated the weddings of three of his children on the same day! His children: Haruna Ibrahim Shekarau, Sa'audatu Ibrahim Shekarau and Hafat Ibrahim Shekarau got married to Hauwa Mohammed Khaleel, Bashir Sadiq Yabo and Aminu Danpullo respectively.

The ever graceful lady and her family had a triple celebration-her 60th birthday, 35th wedding anniversary and 3rd birthday of her granddaughter, Femi Sage Alakija. That was why she rolled out the drums in a big way to thank God for His bountiful blessings. Aptly dubbed “The Alakijas Celebrate”, she began the week of celebrations on a charitable note when her Rose of Sharon Foundation hosted a Widows Empowerment Programme.
Held inside Yusuf Grilo Hall of the Yaba College of Technology, School of Art, Design and Printing, Lagos, the ceremony brought to fore the immense work the Foundation has done since it was officially launched on May 23, 2008.
We gathered that so far, the Rose of Sharon Foundation has supported 2, 425 widows with micro credits and given scholarships to well over 40 orphans.
